Anniversaries
A wedding anniversary is a unique celebration which
occurs each year on the day the wedding took place.
The most important anniversaries are the 25th
and 50th although each year has a special
significance.
Few couples have reached their 80th
anniversary. The oldest wedding anniversary
ever celebrated as registered by the Guinness Book
of World Records, is the one of a Taiwanese couple
Mr. Liu Yung-Yang and Mrs. Yang Wan who reached
their 86th year of marriage in 2003.
Each anniversary is symbolized by a
different material and according to the tradition
the gifts must be made in these materials. These are
the lists of the various anniversaries.
